Terms of Service
Last updated 16 July 2026
Draft. This is a working template, not legal advice — have it reviewed by a lawyer and complete the [bracketed] items before relying on it.
1. Agreement
By using Founder’s Bud (“the Service”), operated by [legal entity] (“we”, “us”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
2. What the Service is
Founder’s Bud is a commitment device. You declare one test, one target number, and a date. The declaration is recorded and published. On the date, the outcome publishes automatically — passed or failed. The Service does not provide advice, coaching, or any guarantee of a result.
3. Accounts
You must provide a valid email and choose a public handle. Your handle is permanent. You are responsible for your account and for the accuracy of anything you declare. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).
4. Public content
Your handle, the text of each declaration, the target number, the date, and the outcome are public and appear on your page and in the public record. Your email is never made public. Don’t put anything confidential, unlawful, or that infringes others’ rights in a declaration.
5. Immutability
This is the core of the Service and a term you accept explicitly: once locked, a commitment cannot be edited, rescheduled, extended, or hidden. Outcomes publish on their date without your action. You cannot delete an account while you have an open commitment.
6. Account deletion
You may delete your account from Settings once you have no open commitments. Deletion is permanent and removes your data; it is not reversible and nothing is archived.
7. Acceptable use
Don’t abuse the Service: no unlawful content, harassment, spam, attempts to break or overload the system, or misuse of witness features. We may suspend or remove accounts that do.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scheduled resolution will always run on time. Nothing here is financial, legal, or professional advice.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months or [amount].
10. Changes
We may change the Service or these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use means you accept the change.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes are subject to its courts.
